Florence Shako is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Commissioner for Oaths. She has both practise and teaching experience in commercial law, employment and labour relations and alternative dispute resolution with a focus on access to justice. She graduated with a Master of Laws degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She also received a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi where she graduated at the top of her class. Florence is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Secretary, an Arbitrator and a Certified Professional Mediator. She also holds several professional qualifications, notably, a member of the Law Society of Kenya and the Institute of Certified Secretaries of Kenya.

Florence has a keen interest in legal research and training. She has successfully facilitated legal and policy training for various organizations. Her main areas of research and training are commercial law, human rights, constitutional law, tax law and alternative dispute resolution. Florence has published in academic journals both locally and internationally as well as in several daily newspapers.
